At long last here are the photos from our May wedding! We began planning our wedding not long after we got engaged two Christmas’s ago (my favorite Christmas present ever!). The location and theme of our wedding seemed to fall naturally into place. It was at one of our favorite places, a beautiful park where we take our dog Eva for nature walks every weekend.
The theme of our wedding was Country Chic, we wanted an elegant, but yet down-to-earth party that also fit with the theme of the location. Together we worked on the decor with lots of trips to HomeGoods, Michaels and a great salvage shop! We also made some amazing DIY crafts together which I’ve shared on my blog.
My dress was from David’s Bridal (I’m a no-fuss kinda girl). I really fell in love with the way the back of this dress shaped my back.
Jewelry is the Fidelity collection from Swarovski (Christmas 2012 gift from my husband!). Chiffon flower in my hair from MermaidenCreations.
Mr. & Mrs. Chalkboard Signs from Borden Specifics (I won these!)
Custom ‘Mrs. Smith’ dress hanger from noce. The window garlands were made by me 😀
The table arrangement was designed by me. My husband and I both custom made the blue ball jars ourselves, here’s the DIY tutorial. We also strung all the lights (with some help from friends and family). The two birds on our table were to represent my in-laws who are both gone – we feel like they are with us every time a bird is following us.
Gorgeous wedding! Makes me want to marry all over again. To the same man, of course. LOL! I love the simplicity of it. Handmade items are always the best & better if you and your husband(to be..at the time) made them together.
You got me on the birds. Hand me the tissues. What a sweet way to remember them!
Thank you for sharing.
I love your DIY! Planning a wedding on long island as well (I’m from Setauket!) with as much DIY as possible, can I ask which salvage shop you used? Thanks! 😀
I'm a former corporate employee who decided to ditch the 9-5 and start my own business. Stick with me while I share my best business tips, design advice and website how-to's.
