Showit has made it even easier to add your beautiful Instagram feed to your Showit website. In the past you were only able to add your Instagram feed by using a third party app like SnapWidget, but now you can easily connect and display your Instagram feed directly through Showit.
I’m going to walk you through the exact steps to displaying your Instagram feed within your Showit website. It’s so easy to do, you’ll have it up and ready within minutes!
Create a New Canvas For Your Feed
On your homepage, add a new Canva by selecting “Add Blank Canvas”. Set the Canvas to be a Site Canvas by selecting “Convert to Site Canvas” so that the Canvas can be used throughout your site.
Add Social Grid Box
Select the Social Grid option from the menu along the bottom in Showit. A grid placeholder will be dropped into your Canvas and you can resize the box to however you want it to appear in your desktop and mobile site.
Set Social Grid Settings
In the right column, expand the Social Grid Settings box. In this section you’ll be able to connect your Instagram account and choose how you want your feed to display on your Showit website. You can control how many rows there are, the alignment of the feed and what types of posts are displayed.
Connect Your Instagram Account
Before you click the blue Connect Instagram button, make sure you are already logged into your Instagram account. If you are logged into a different Instagram account that you don’t want displayed on your site, be sure to log out of that account first.
Another tab will open asking you for permission to access your Instagram account. Make sure the account is correct and confirm access.
Once connected, you’ll see your account listed and you can choose to disconnect it at any time.
ImportantTip: If you change your Instagram login at any time, the account will disconnect from your Showit site and you’ll need to reconnect it again.
Adjust Your Social Grid Settings
Since you have the option to connect multiple accounts, you’ll need to select the connected Instagram account you want displayed in the Social Grid.
You can choose the types of posts you want to be displayed including video posts, carousels, image posts and the option to show the post caption on hover.
Choose how you want your feed to be displayed on your website by setting the spacing between images, the number of rows in your feed and the alignment.
Setup Your Mobile Feed
In the Social Grid Settings box, switch to the Mobile tab and edit your mobile feed to display multiple rows. You’ll also need to resize the grid box in your layout to fit the mobile version of your site. I recommend displaying two rows and sizing the grid so that a total of four posts are displayed in the mobile version.
Enhance Your Instagram Feed Display
You can choose to keep your Instagram feed section simple and clean but just displaying your feed, or you can enhance the design by adding other elements like a button that links to your Instagram page and a title with a call to action. The goal is to get more followers and to make it as easy as possible to follow your Instagram account.
Now that you’ve created your beautiful Instagram feed, go ahead and publish your changes to the world.
