Deciding on what type of website to have for your business can be a little confusing. There’s a lot to consider like: monthly cost, what features are available, ease of use – it’s a lot to consider, right? As you’ve been researching, you may have heard about how great Showit is.
I’ve been using Showit for my own business since 2020 and it’s really been a game-changer. Let’s walk through the five things you should know about Showit before choosing it for your website.
What is Showit?
Showit is a website hosting platform that allows you to build your own website (or use a template) using their drag and drop interface. It’s very intuitive and user-friendly. Plus, it’s mobile-friendly and since there’s no coding, you’ll never have to hire a web developer.
Is Showit Worth It?
While Showit is on the high-end as far as costs go per month for website hosting, many business owners feel it’s worth the additional cost.
How Much Is Showit?
The lowest priced plan for Showit is $19/mo. if you pay for the year in full. This includes website hosting and the use of the Showit interface to design your own website.
Is Showit Free?
While there is no free plan for Showit, there are a few money-saving offers:
14 Day Free Trial – Showit a 2 week trial where you can play around with the interface and see for yourself how amazing it is.
1 Month Free – Signup through my referral link and you’ll get 1 month of Showit for FREE!
Free Templates – If you’re not ready to commit to a paid template, Showit offers some free ones in their template store.
What To Know Before Choosing Showit
1. Showit Uses WordPress for the Blog
If you decide to have a blog with your Showit website, you’ll be provided with a WordPress login – this is separate from your Showit interface. Why does Showit use WordPress and not their own blogging platform? Because WordPress is the BEST blogging platform in the world. If you already have a WordPress blog and want to move to Showit, the transition will be easy and Showit will assist you in migrating your posts.
2. Their Support Team is Awesome
We 🩷 the people over at Showit. If you ever need to reach out with a problem or question, they are super responsive and extremely friendly. Their support is based in the US and they help answer all of your questions in an easy to understand way.
3. Showit Is Not An Ecommerce Platform
While you can add a store to your Showit website using third party sites like Shopify, PayPal or ThriveCart, Showit should not be your first choice if your website is mainly about selling products. Showit was originally built for photographers but how now evolved into a mainstay for creatives, coaches, consultants, bloggers and so many more types of businesses.
You can technically build your own site from scratch in Showit (I’ve done it myself) but with so many incredible Showit website templates available, you’ll save yourself a TON of time by using a template. All of the templates are fully editable meaning you can customize the layout, colors, fonts, photos and text.
5. Like any Website Platform, There is a Learning Curve
I’m going to be honest here. There is no such thing as an “easy” website builder. What’s easy for one person, may not be easy for another. So when people ask me to recommend a platform that’s easy to use, I always tell them I like Showit the best – but they should expect a learning curve in order to get used to it.
The great news is there’s tons of documentation from Showit that’s easy to understand and there’s also tons of tutorials on the internet to help guide you.
Summing It Up…
Have I convinced you yet if Showit is the right choice for you? It’s not always for everyone but if you’re a service-based business or a blogger, you’ll want to go with a Showit website to avoid the *coughs* cookie-cutter websites from the other website platforms out there.
If you’re curious why I switched to Showit a while back, here’s a quick explanation: For years I was a WordPress user and had changed around my theme from Divi to Elementor (those are website builders within WordPress). I started to see other sites that looked so much better than mine and they were all Showit websites! WordPress had limitations with the layout, depending on which theme I was using. In order to achieve the cool like that Showit websites had, I would have to change my theme, yet again.
I tried Showit and I was hooked! I’ve never looked back and I’m SO grateful I switched!
