Your website serves as a place for potential clients to learn more about your offerings and hopefully to text the next step in hiring you by scheduling an appointment. 📅
If you’re not already using a scheduling calendar for your small business, I highly recommend using Calendly. It’s free and so easy to use – plus, you can embed your calendar into your Showit website.
You can make it even easier for people to book a call with you by embedding your calendar into your Showit website. Instead of having a button that links to your calendar on a separate page, you can display your available days and times right in Showit.
How To Setup A Scheduling Calendar
If you don’t already have a Calendly account, sign up for a free account and setup your availability by choosing the days and times you want to make yourself available for a call.
Some of the cool options you’ll find in Calendly are the ability to create group meetings, web conferences, in-person meetings and you can also pre-determined the duration of meetings (15 minute, 30 minute, etc.) and you can connect Calendly to your digital calendar.
After you’ve setup an event type and your availability in the calendar, you can now embed your calendar into a Showit page.
You may want to embed the calendar into your contact page, a sales landing page or possibly on your services page.
How To Embed Calendly into a Showit Page
While it may take a few steps to embed your calendar into your Showit site, it will not only make you look like a total pro – but it will help people to book time with your in a snap!
If you’re not sure what embedding means in terms of your website, I’ll explain.
Embedding happens when you copy and paste a code from one site to another. The code then places some type of content (in this case an interactive calendar with a form) such as a video, gallery, form, quiz, shopping cart, etc.
The content acts independently from your website and will update automatically based on any changes you make. For example, if you embed your Calendly calendar into a page on Showit and then make changes to your calendar, it will automatically update on your Showit page because the code is embedded.
So let’s talk about how to get that calendar onto your Showit site and start booking calls!
1. Find Your Embed Code in Calendly
In your Calendly account, navigate to the Event Types section and click the Share button for the event type you want to embed into your Showit page.
In the pop up window, select the Add to Website tab, then select Inline Embed.
Select your settings in the pop up window to customize the colors (paid account required) or to hide specific information. Then, select Copy Code.
2. Paste Embed Code into Showit
In your Showit site, open the page you wish to embed your calendar into, such as your contact page. Go to the area and Canvas you want it to appear and select the shape icon along the bottom and Embed Code.
You’ll see a black box with diagonal stripes appear in the canvas, double click that box to open up the modal window. Paste your code into the text area and click Save.
Now you’ll see your form appear on your Showit page and you’ll need to resize the box to fit with width and height needed to display your entire calendar.
You can either make your canvas as high as needed to fit the whole embedded form, or select Grow With Content for the canvas height setting in the module box on the right side.
Next, publish your page and then test out your form! Make any adjustments you need to the layout until you’re happy with the setup.
Summary
Embedding code into your Showit site to enhance your website’s functionality isn’t as hard to do as it may sound. I hope this tutorial was helpful to you in getting your calendar to appear on your Showit site.
Don’t forget to add plenty of CTA (call to action) buttons throughout your site letting your potential clients know they can book a meeting with you since you’ve now made it so easy to do.
