I’m so proud to share the brand launch for Save to Splurge. Working with the owner Jen was a dream because she’s incredibly sweet and she also trusted the branding process.
When Jen came to me she had no branding. She was looking to grow her business and needed branding that truly represented the vision she had.
After Jen completed my Brand Development Questionnaire we had a quick phone call (while our sons napped) to discuss some details. I was able to really understand what Jen wanted envisioned for her brand and I got right to work.
Within two weeks I developed a branding package that included a logo design, submark, custom textures, icon designs, marketing assets for social media, worksheet template and a Brand Strategy + Style Guide for Jen to reference.
“Casey did the branding for my new business and I could not be happier with her work! She is super responsive and open to suggestions. An absolute dream to work with! I will definitely be hiring her again in the future!” – Jennifer Pham, Save to Splurge
Tell us what your business is about.
I teach women and couples how to manage their day-to-day money with confidence. Sharing my passion for budgeting and finances to create your best life is the essence of my business.
What made you decide to create this business?
After accumulating $30k in student loan debt and marrying my husband who had a six-figure student loan debt of his own, I know firsthand how stressful finances can be.
I’ve always been a numbers person (I’m a CPA) and designing a plan to pay off our debt came very natural to me. When I realized that not everyone felt the same way when it came to taking control of their money, it became my mission to help.
At what point did you know you needed professional branding and how has it helped your business?
I had a successful personal finance blog for over 3 years before deciding to start a financial coaching business. The blog never felt 100% me, and because of that I wasn’t as proud of it as I should have been. I didn’t want my lack of professional branding to keep me from sharing and marketing my business. Having a brand that I could be proud of was essential.
What’s your best business tip for someone starting out?
Just start. Don’t think that you need everything to be perfect before you start. Most of what you learn will be through doing.
You’ve had a lot of success on Pinterest with your blog posts. Can you share any tips on to get a lot of repins?
Pinterest algorithms are always changing. But I have found that posting attractive pins on relevant group boards has brought me consistent traffic.
We’re both Moms to toddler boys. Can you share a tip on how to balance building your own business with motherhood?
I am no expert on this and am always learning! I think it’s important to be flexible. Write down your top 1 thing to do for your business each day and focus on just that during naptime or after bedtime (or whenever you can squeeze in 20 min of work time!) Don’t overwhelm yourself with a crazy long list of to-dos! When my son is awake, I try to give him my undivided attention.
Lastly, how do you unwind so that you don’t get overworked?
Weekly date nights! My mom is the BEST grandma to my little man. She babysits so my husband and I can eat a proper meal and reconnect.
