Creating a Brand Kit in Canva is a great way to maintain consistency with your brand while creating professional designs in Canva. The primary features allow you to save a default color palettes, default fonts and logo files.
I’ve been using Canva for my business for quite a while now and the Brand Kit is a really useful feature, however it’s only available with the pro account.
Keep reading to find out the best way to create your own Brand Kit in Canva so that your designs are more consistent and you’re able to create your templates even faster.
1. Click on the Brand Kit Tab in Canva
To access your Brand Kit in Canva, you’ll need to login to your account and navigate to the Brand Kit tab in the left column. Here you’ll see where you can setup your brand colors, fonts and upload your brand logo.
If you notice, you can also add more than one brand kit.
2. Upload Brand Logos
Upload all of your brand logo files including your primary logos, alternate logos and submarks. Be sure to upload them as PNG files so that they have transparent backgrounds. You can also add your logos in a variety of different colors including black/white or dark/light so that you have flexibility with your designs.
3. Add Your Brand Colors
One of my favorite features of the Canva Brand Kit, is the ability to add your brand color palette. Simply add each color by entering the HEX color code for each color. You can also add multiple color palettes for your brand by clicking “Add and Discover Palettes”.
Once you add your color palette, those colors will now display as a preset color palette when you select the color setting in Canva.
In the Canva Brand Kit, you can preselect your brand’s headline, subheading and paragraph font. In addition to the thousands of fonts you can choose from with the Pro version of Canva, you can also upload your own custom fonts.
Click the “Upload a Font” button in the Brand Kit and upload any fonts as a OTF, TTF, or WOFF file format.
Conclusion
Once your brand kit is complete, you can begin using Canva and you’ll start to see your preselected fonts and colors integrated into the menu options. If you ever need to go back and made an update to your brand kit, you can easily do that by going back to the Brand Kits tab and selecting the brand kit you want to edit.
