Tell me if this sounds familiar: you thought creating your own website would save you money and get you a “good enough” website until you were ready to invest more time and money to hire a professional. Months go by and you still haven’t launched your website – now you’re stuck and have no idea how to get this thing done.
I’ve heard this from countless business owners who are struggling to get their website finished but just can’t seem to reach the finish line, you are not alone my friend.
Let’s walk through the three most common reasons your website hasn’t launched and how you can solve your website woes today.
Why Am I Struggling To Finish My Website?
You may have thought creating your own website wouldn’t be so hard, everyone else seems to be able to do it – right? Maybe it started off easy, you may have even purchased a template that looked beautiful and seemed easy to setup. Now you’re stuck with an unfinished website that you’ve spent countless hours working on.
The solution may be easier than you think, you’ve got this.
1. Technical Issues Are Keeping You From Launching Your Website
If you’ve been stuck on trying to launch your website because of tech issues, you’re not the the only one. Many business owners struggle with launching their website because of technical issues. Some of these issues may stem from:
Figuring out how to connect your domain
Getting your navigation to work
Making your website look professional
Understanding how to make changes to your website
While you may be feeling frustrated, you can find a way to make your website work either with your own research or with some help from an expert. Here’s a list of ideas on how to move forward in solving technical hurdles with your website:
Go to ChatGPT for help Ask ChatGPT for guidance on how to help you with the issue you’re having. In most cases it will give you the right answer.
Ask your hosting provider for assistance If you’re paying for monthly hosting, you should have access to free support from your host. Reach out to their support team to see if they can help solve your issue.
Look for solutions on YouTube There’s a solid chance you’re not the only one struggling with website issues and there’s bound to be a video tutorial on YouTube that can help you out.
Hire a website expert What may take you hours to figure out could take a website expert only minutes to fix. Try finding either a website designer, developer or even a savvy business owner who can help you with your website tech issues. If your budget it non-existent, offer to exchange services or buy them a coffee.
Remember that done is better than perfect. You can always make changes to your website after it’s launched.
2. You don’t have the right website design
Whether you’re starting with a blank page or using a pre-made website template, not being able to get your website design right can hold you back from launching. I highly recommend finding a website template that has most of the page templates and features you want. You can customize the design over time to make it your own.
Showit offers highly customizable websites with it’s easy drag and drop builder. I offer a collection of versatile and professional Showit website designs which include easy to understand tutorial videos, pre-launch checklist, optional add-on templates to enhance your website – all backed by thousands of happy customers.
If you’ve been struggling to launch your website, you may want to consider if you chose the right website platform. Each website builder is slightly different and has it’s own pros and cons. Depending on the needs of your website, I highly recommend Showit or Squarespace. Showit offers limitless customization for a truly memorable website. Squarespace offers a very robust website builder equipped with e-commerce.
If you’ve been stuck with trying to figure out how to launch your website and your website builder is holding you back from launching – you may want to consider a different builder.
No website builder is “easier” than others, each one takes time to understand and become familiar with. If you are really struggling with your website, consider asking for help, switching to a different builder or invest in a website template to help get you to the finish line.
